How can I buy a car from a police car auction?

I've heard cars are sold very cheap that have been siezed from criminals. Is there a site / where can I go to find out about buying cars from the government? I live in York, PA if that info is necessary

  3. check your local police or impound lots and ther is a 1-800 number also
  4. Policeauctions.com. Register and you will receive listings in your area. Good luck and happy hunting. One person's misfortune is another's payday. Right?
  5. several sources. Used government vehicle sales can be found at http://www.autoauctions.gsa.gov/auctionsearch.cfm Seized property (including vehicles) can be found at http://www.ustreas.gov/auctions/customs/ Good luck!
  6. They do this a certain day each month, watch the paper, and you might try calling the Cop Shop for info- most are not good cars from Criminals, they keep those for undercover work, what you find mostly is Vehilces towed off the side of the road, junk- but once in awhile a fixer upper.
  7. Your best bet would be to call the local police office (using their non-emergency number, of course!) and asking them when they hold their auctions. Also, check with local towing companies. Many of these companies sell off towed, unclaimed cars every month or so. I've bought a car there once, although it was for parts and not for transportation. There's a reason many of these cars were towed...
