How much would a dealership pay for a (2006-2008)Dodge Charger SRT8 at a car auction?
I really want to get one. But only dealerships can buy cars for the low. I have 8 grand and could have 10 by Jan 2009. Who can I pay to go and get me the car? I perfer the SRT8. But the RT would do for me.

- You will not get a $45,000 car for $18,000, even if 2 years old. Buy yourself a Caliper, that is your price range. Most dealerships get 1-2 SRT8 a year if they are lucky. There is a wide range of people who like cars faster than most police cars, so they buy new at sale prices. No one is giving up their SRT8 earlier. Pay more, or look for a different car. ***A hemi is going to cost you. If you are lucky, very lucky you can get one in mid 20,000's$. V6 charger will be even cheaper. Do you have a job? You might be able to get a car loan for the balance if you put down that much cash, but may have to just get a hemi. Srt8 is 6.1 liter, and hemi, I think 5.7-5.8liter? Hemi is fast, fun itself, and better buy. Did you even check into the insurance cost yet. You better, some of the price of the car, plus gas. Insurance is high on sportscar, bigger engines more money, and your age and credit also affect insurance costs. No dealer is going to sell you a car for what they pay at auction. They are there to make money, so you have to add shop costs, detail and some profit. So you can figure 10k down, finance 15k$, have to add sales tax and tags, you could be $400.00 a month just for 25$k car, financing 15k. You can try , get hemi, srt8 will be harder, expect to be no less than 28000 - 33000, if you were very lucky.
- they pay almost what loan value is on them ,people are very misguided on this part of it they think that dealers really do get these car dirt cheap and they don't,when it goes through the sale the pay real high amounts for them sometimes, usually never less than 80% of the value, especially on a srt8 charger, those cars don't run through the sale to cheap, usually for a fee of a few hundred bucks they will let you go with them and bid on a car,and buy it,most dealers charge a 300-500 buck fee and ask you not to tell what you actually paid for it,we went Wednesday night and took a few buyers, and all they bought was small cars, the fee is still the same though if you buy a car, good luck.,,PS i found the sale sheet for the night we went, and there was one charger that went through the sale it sold for around 24 thousand counting the sale bill on it and it was 2007 model with very low miles on it,this should give you a general idea of what one will cost you, good luck.
