Renault laguna? on this renault laguna 1998 2 ltr 8 valve,its got gear change problem,when the engine is cold and you set of on a journey it changes gear alright,as it warms up and when it gets to running tempreture it's hard to get in gear,reverse is worse as its best to stop the engine to select reverse then restart the engine,the car has a new clutch cable now so thats not the problem,I thought of a gear oil change may help,Any other suggestions would be helpfull.

How do you check the gearbox oil level on a 6 speed Renault Laguna (PK6 gearbox)? The Laguna (PK6) 6 speed gearbox requires "a special tool" to check the oil level, according to the Haynes manual. Unlike the 5 speed, it is not a case of fill up to the fill/level plug. Has anyone seen or used this tool? My Renault garage were not very helpful. What does it look like? Surely checking a gearbox oil level job isn't a job for Renault garages only?

Does your Renault Laguna over heat in centre console causing the cd player to go faulty? I have a Renault Laguna 04 plate. When i go on long journeys my cd and radio tends to search during songs causing a second of the song to cut out. this is very annoying especially when you are enjoying the song. I noticed that it only does this on long journeys and when i feel the centre console where my stereo is, it is quite warm. even by my legs when driving it seems very warm and when i take my card key out it is also warm. I have only had it a few months so is this normal or is it a fault.Or does my cd/radio player need replacing because it is overheating.

How do i open my renault laguna bonnet? My bonnet cable has snapped in my Laguna 1.6 16V, W reg (2000). This is a pain as I need to change me alternator belt. I cant move the car to help either. Do I need to drop the gearbox to change my Renault Laguna Clutch? I've been told by a local garage that I need to allow for 6 hours labour to change the clutch on my Laguna Mk1 1.8 rt. At £34 an hour I'd rather do it myself but why does it need so long? Do I need to do something unnecesarily complex like drop the gearbox out to change the clutch or is it just an awkward job. (I've changed quite a few bike clutches in my time but never spent more than a couple of hours on it). Renault Laguna II SERV light on intermittently with no associated light or change in performance? My 03 Laguna SERV light comes ON and goes OUT intemittently with no obvious pattern or associated fault, it is more a distraction. The light is less likely to come on after the first start of the day and is on rarely when the engine is warm. My oil level is fine and the car has just been serviced. More worryingly the instrument panel has briefly failed on three occasions causing irregular indications on the displays until the car is restarted. Any idea's?

I'm experiencing very loud vibrating/rumbling noises on my Renault Laguna when driving and steering what is it It is a well used car (200k miles). The problem does not appear to be one with the engine. There is a loud rumbling noise that is occuring which seems to change in volume when the steering wheel is moved. The noise is pretty bad and sounds as if you are driving over rumble strips. I have checked the power steering liquid and that is full and I am quite worried about driving it. I would just like some advice as to what the problem could be. Any help would be much appreciated. many thanks.

Hissing noise from Renault Laguna petrol engine? Its like a "sssssssssssssssssss". It gets louder when the revs get higher. It seems to be coming from under the bonnet, just near to where I put the oil in the engine. There is the right amount of oil in it. The car just had a new radiator as the cable from the fan broke/came off a few weeks ago and the engine overheated then the radiator blew. When I got the car back from the mechanic it sounded fine; however in the last week I have heard this noise. Could some vital component be about to blow? The car is ten years old. Any ideas?

Can you help with Renault Laguna Automatic please? My dear wife, unused to driving an auto, stopped the car and switched off whilst the transmission in drive. I can't return the car ro Park or Neutral to re-start, and the display is alternately flashing "press brake pedal to shift to P", and "shift lever to P or N". There is something in the handbook about if the lever is jammed in P (remove the gaiter and press unlocking button). I can't find the button, but in any case the car is not in Park. Anyone able to help please?

Renault Laguna stuck in 3rd gear, could this be a knackerd gearbox or a worn mounting? The gearbox did start to wine whenever i layed off the throttle in 5th gear then it would pop out of that gear when warm, but all i done was to park up as i was in 3rd gear then it just would not come out of that gear, i know it needs a gearbox at some point but i would like to run it into the ground till then so i did hope it might only be a mounting.

Anyways when i go to change the source to CD the display just displays 'wait' and does not load. The cd slot will also not take in the CD and none of the buttons respond (such as eject or load). I drove it a few days ago and it was fine - this morning it had virtually now power in 1st & 2nd gear - is the clutch on its way out? It almost went backwards uphill. Problems with my 53 plate renault laguna 2litre turbo petrol? The car started making loud rattling noises almost like a drum roll from the engine and the turbo stopped working. Any time the turbo should come on, for example, steep hills or above 1800 RPMs the car loses loads of power and wont go above 2000 RPM, then engine management, electronic fault warning lights come on. The car is booked in the garage for next week, can anyone give me any ideas or suggestions to what the problem maybe.
