Do you think that Renault could get back into the American market with a new caravelle? They could make a 4 cylinder 1.3 litre engine by copying the head of their F1 engine. They did win the world constructors championship, they should be selling a car that has some similarity to their race car. They mount this transversly, AHEAD of the rear wheels to improve handling. Then they use a ZF transaxle and Bosch fuel injection and ignition to improve reliability. With their reputation they can't sell it with the Renault name here, but it could be sold in lincoln mercury dealers as a seperate marque, like they did with the Pantera.
